To assist staff in project management a number of training courses are being made available. This includes non-accredited training, international certification training and Australian nationally recognised qualification training.
NON-ACCREDITED TRAINING
For Project team members (or those aspiring to be):
Introduction to Project Management Fundamentals
Prerequisite: None. Duration: 3 hours
This course provides the fundamental principles of project management. It is also recommended for experienced project staff as a refresher course.
Applied Project Management
Prerequisite: None. Duration: 3 Days
This course provides the fundamental principles of project management. It is recommended for project team members and project managers.
MS Project Essentials
Prerequisite: None. Duration: 1 Day
This course provides the fundamentals of using MS Project 2003/2007. It is recommended for project managers, and covers the MS Project template used in the FSMed methodology.
Project Coach Essentials
Prerequisite: Applied Project Management (or equivalent) Duration: 1 Day
This course provides the fundamentals of project coaching to become a FSMed Project Coach. Completing this program and its prerequisites, you will be eligable for certification through the International Institute of Project Coaching.
QUALIFICATION-BASED TRAINING
The Fiji School of Medicine also have an arrangement with People Rich Pty Ltd (Australia) to offer the Australian Nationally Recognised qualifications in project management through the Australasian College of Leadership and Coaching:
Certificate IV in Project Management (CODE BSB41507) - this is a 3-day course that covers the nine functions or knowledge areas of project management. It requires an assessment at a project team member level, using the FSMed Project Management Methodology. It prepares project team members to be involved and manage projects.
Diploma of Project Management (CODE BSB51407) - this is a 5-day course (2 extra days in addition to the Certificate IV level) that covers the nine functions or knowledge areas of project management and focuses on portfolio and program management, leadership skills and recovering troubled projects. It requires an assessment at a Project Manager level, using the FSMed Project Management Methodology. It prepares participants to effectively manage projects as Project Managers.
These courses are designed and delivered by practicing project managers, and international experts in Project Management. If you have already completed substantial education in project management, you may be eligible for recognised prior learning to enter the assessment phase of the Award. Qualifications are awarded by the Australasian College of Leadership and Coaching (Training Provider 51900). |
